FIND OUT WHAT MAKES COSTA RICA AN ECOLOGICAL WONDERLAND!

Your adventure begins when we scoop you up from your hotel bright and early – 6am. Throughout the two hour drive along the Pacific Coast, your guide will fill you in on why National Geographic named this place the “Most Biologically Intense Place on Earth in Terms of Biodiversity”.

Once we board the boat, we will cruise 30km down the Sierpe River – the largest wetlands of Costa Rica. The wetlands are home to a variety of animals and plant species. During your boat ride you will see large mangrove trees – the largest mangrove system in Costa Rica. As for animals, you will see anything from iguanas to crocodiles to monkeys and birds. And this is just on your way to the park!

Once inside the park, we will follow a Corcovado National Park guide throughout San Pedrillo Station. What makes this tour special is access to the park-specific guides. Due to the wide variety of animals and vegetation, guides must be specifically certified for this park. These guides will educate you on why this park is the most biologically dense place on the planet.

Your Manuel’s Tours guide will accompany you throughout the park. They will provide you with the scopes and adapters to capture high quality photos. Make sure you bring your camera or cell phone! You don’t want to miss the opportunity to take professional-looking photos of these unique creatures and breathtaking scenery.

During the walk you will experience how impressive the natural world is. As you look around, you will be surrounded by over 500 species of trees, including spectacular buttresses, large woody lianas and intertwined herbaceous vines. It won’t be hard to spot the incredible amount of wildlife. You will walk among sloths, monkeys, anteaters, poison frogs and Scarlet Macaws.

After the hike (don’t worry, it’s at a relaxed pace!), we will stop for lunch on San Josesito beach. Sit back, relax and enjoy your lunch while listening to the waves lap against the shore. Take a quick siesta in the sand before we make our journey back.

We board the boat once again and head up the Sierpe River. Your guide will educate you on the mangrove trees and what makes them so important to the wetlands ecosystem. Depending on the time of year, you might even see humpback whales!

Your Costa Rican wildlife adventure comes to a close as we drive back from the river and drop you off at your hotel. We guarantee your day will be one that you will never forget! We’ll make sure you have the perfect pictures to show family and friends back home!

Manuel was full of interesting facts about the various animals, insects, flora and fauna we saw along the way and spoke passionately about conservation in Costa Rica. Where he could, he took us away from the crowds to explore quieter parts of the park.

Manuel is so knowledgeable. He will answer any questions you have, and even if you don't have questions, you'll walk away with a ton of knowledge about the park, the species, migration of the birds, etc. I truly believe we have pictures of animals/insects that few people come out of the park with. And that is because Manuel is so good at what he does.
